What is real, though, is the US military budget, the bases the US has positioned all over the world, and the unrelenting and desperate efforts to maintain itself as the global hegemon.

Nowhere is this more evident than in the public display of such cruelty and wilful destruction in Gaza that even the term genocide can’t fully encapsulate.

No matter what US propaganda tries to project, the peoples of the world will remember Biden as “Genocide Joe”.

They will remember his insistence on “Israel’s right to defend itself” and his embrace of internationally recognised war criminal Benjamin Netanyahu.

They will remember the hand of the US ambassador to the UN, Linda Thomas-Greenfield, being raised again and again as the lone veto for a ceasefire in Gaza.

And they will remember the images of Gaza\'s mass graves, children torn to pieces, exploding buildings, assassinated journalists, kidnapped doctors, targeted medics, tortured prisoners, starving people, pulverised hospitals, agricultural land bathed in white phosphorus and destruction of the likes not seen since Dresden in the Second World War.

Given his record, there is even some perverse, poetic justice in regular “Joe” being at the helm of this sinking ship during these harrowing and momentous times.

An American surgeon from North Carolina volunteering in Gaza told CBS News in a report aired Sunday that IDF snipers are deliberately killing children and toddlers with shots to the chest and head.

Dr. Mark Perlmutter, an orthopedic surgeon from North Carolina, and vice president of the International College of Surgeons, volunteered in Gaza from the end of April through the first half of May. Asked to describe what he witnessed in Gaza, Dr. Perlmutter replied, \"All of the disasters I\'ve seen, combined – 40 mission trips, 30 years, Ground Zero, earthquakes, all of that combined – doesn\'t equal the level of carnage that I saw against civilians in just my first week in Gaza.\"

And the civilian casualties, he said, are almost exclusively children. \"I\'ve never seen that before,\" he said. \"I\'ve seen more incinerated children than I\'ve ever seen in my entire life, combined. I\'ve seen more shredded children in just the first week ... missing body parts, being crushed by buildings, the greatest majority, or bomb explosions, the next greatest majority. We\'ve taken shrapnel as big as my thumb out of eight-year-olds. And then there\'s sniper bullets. I have children that were shot twice.\"

The International Court of Justice (ICJ) decision issued last Friday constitutes, from a legal perspective, a great victory for the Palestinian people and an unprecedented and stinging blow to Israel and its fascist government.

All controversy regarding the nature of the situation in the occupied Palestinian territories (OPT) – which has been confirmed to include the entirety of the West Bank, East Jerusalem, and the Gaza Strip – has been laid to rest, with these territories unambiguously declared to be unlawfully occupied by Israel.

They are not recognised as Jewish territory, as Netanyahu claims, nor as \"disputed\" territory, as the Israeli Labor Party and other Zionist parties claim.

The ICJ decision also confirmed the applicability of the Fourth Geneva Convention to the OPT, which Israel has always denied is relevant in this case.

Moreover, it clarified that the settlements are unlawful, and all of them must be removed. Not only this, but the Palestinians must be compensated for the harm inflicted on them throughout the occupation\'s duration – for all land seized, every home demolished, and every violation perpetrated.
