Sheikh Prof. Dr. Muhammad bin Ahmad Barhaji has completed the Quran in its entirety in Masjid-ul-Haram

(05 Sha'ban 1447)
(24 January 2026)

May Allah Almighty bless Sheikh, the reciter, Professor Dr. Muhammad bin Ahmad Barhaji, for completing the Quran in its entirety at Masjid-An-Nabawi,
according to the narration of Hafs from Asim via the Tayyibat al-Nashr route. He began in the Taraweeh prayer on the night of Ramadan, Thursday, 29 Sha'ban 1445, starting with Surah Al-Fatihah, and completed in the Fajr prayer on Saturday, 5 Sha'ban 1447, finishing with Surah An-Nas. This was completed in one year, eleven months, and five days.

Among the distinguishing features of this completion is that it is divided between the audible prayers and the Taraweeh and Tahajjud prayers.

The variety of recitation levels, ranging from moderate to slow.

The excellence of performance and Tajweed.

Attention to the science of pausing and resuming recitation, and an explanation of some of the choices of the leading reciters, especially the earlier ones.

Highlighting the specific words for Hafs via the Tayyibat al-Nashr route.

Highlighting a number of issues and rulings related to recitation.

Explaining the relationship between Quranic performance and meanings, and its impact on them

An explanation of how to express meanings through vocal performance, such as questioning, declarative statements, emphasis, and address, etc.

And the balance in this, without excess or deficiency.

We ask Allah Almighty to reward him with the best of rewards, to grant him success, to bless him and his efforts, to benefit Islam and Muslims through him, and to grant us and him sincerity and steadfastness on this path.

And praise be to Allah, by whose grace good deeds are accomplished!
