Israel will never truly support Somaliland. So why did Israel become the first country to recognize Somaliland as a sovereign state? This does not mean that Somaliland does not deserve sovereignty self-determination is their right. However, the issue here is not about Somaliland’s rights, but about Israel’s political interests.
