Is a beard mandatory or sunnah?
🔲 Of course it is obligatory:
1-In the hadith, when the Prophet saw two men who came to him from Kosrae with shaved beards, the Prophet said, \"Who ordered you to do this?\" They said, \"Kosrae,\" so the Prophet grabbed his beard and said: \"As for me, this is how my Lord ordered me.\"
(This is a command from God, and the principle is that the command is obligatory.
2- The Prophet commanded it more than once and in more than one form: \"Grow beards - spare the beards - loosen the beards\"
The Prophet said: \"Grow beards and break away from the polytheists.)
- The command is originally obligatory.
Allah said: \"Let those who disobey His command beware, lest a fitna befall them, or the punishment of the righteous.\"
3- In the hadith: \"The Prophet used to move his beard while reading the Qur\'an.\"
Jabir ibn Samra said: \"The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, had a very hairy beard.\"
-The Prophet\'s beard was long and he never took it out.
4- Indeed, the Prophet said: \"Five of the instincts\" and he mentioned \"keeping the beard trimmed\"
It is God\'s natural instinct that He has instilled in people.
[2] Here are the statements of the scholars:
-Ibn Hazm said in the order of consensus: \"They agreed that shaving off all the beard is a mutilation that is not permissible.\"
[Mutilation: meaning disfigurement]
-Ibn Mahfuz said: \"The people of the four madhhabs and other imams agree on the prohibition of shaving the beard and taking from it, and this is one of the worst customs that have spread among people until they approve of the customs of the infidels and disapprove of the Sunnah of their Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace.
Al-Hattab said, \"Shaving the beard is not permissible, it is an example and a heresy, and anyone who shaves his beard will be disciplined.\"
