✨Reflecting on the Legacy of Sultan Abdul Hamid II and the Importance of Staying Ahead in Technology✨
History has a way of teaching us invaluable lessons if only we pay attention. Sultan Abdul Hamid II once sent Ottoman youth to German universities to acquire engineering skills for the train line he envisioned. These students not only returned equipped with the expertise to serve the project but also brought insights into how the West was advancing. The Sultan understood a critical truth: to compete, one must learn the adversary\'s strengths and methods, not to mimic but to innovate and surpass.
Fast forward to today, the parallels are striking. During the Sultan’s time, Palestine was demanded of him. Now, it’s occupied. Similarly, technological dominance was once with the Muslims, as seen in innovations like the telegram service, but now the spotlight is on artificial intelligence (AI)—a field we must master rather than merely observe.
Could it be that the challenges we face are distractions to keep us from advancing technologically and strategically? With this question in mind, I made a conscious decision to invest in my growth and understanding of emerging technologies. I enrolled in the EIT Food Inspire Explore Compete course, Alhamdulillah, successfully completing it. This journey not only deepened my perspective but also sparked an idea addressing a core human challenge: excessive consumption.
🔑Key Takeaways from My Experience🔑
✏️Learning with Purpose: Knowledge is not just about acquisition but application. The Sultan’s example shows us that education is a tool for empowerment and societal betterment.
💬Think Beyond Borders: Understanding global trends, technologies, and methods is vital to strategize and compete effectively.
🎯Focus on Core Problems: Identifying and addressing fundamental issues like overconsumption can lead to innovative solutions that benefit humanity as a whole.
🧐Stay Observant and Strategic: Observing trends and challenges with a critical mind allows us to identify opportunities where others see obstacles.
It’s time we, as an Ummah, prioritize technological and intellectual advancement. Just as Sultan Abdul Hamid II envisioned, let us equip ourselves to lead, not just follow. Together, we can reclaim the legacy of innovation and excellence for the betterment of the world.
Through this program, I have:
✅ Gained a deeper understanding of trends and challenges in food and health sectors
✅ Learned to identify and act on entrepreneurial opportunities in the food system
✅ Developed strategies to raise resources and design impactful marketing approaches
✅ Enhanced critical thinking, leadership, and problem-solving capabilities
