Adenoviral conjunctivitis, also known as pink eye, is a highly contagious eye infection caused by the adenovirus. It affects the conjunctiva, the thin membrane covering the white part of the eye and the inside of the eyelids.

#symptoms:

1. Redness and inflammation of the conjunctiva

2. Discharge or pus in the eye (may be clear, yellow, or greenish)

3. Itchy or burning sensation

4. Swollen eyelids

5. Crusting on the eyelids or lashes

6. Blurred vision

7. Sensitivity to light

8. Eye pain or discomfort

#transmission:

1. Direct contact with an infected person\'s secretions

2. Touching contaminated surfaces or objects

3. Swimming in contaminated pools

#treatment:

1. Supportive care (rest, hydration, warm compresses)

2. Antiviral medications (in severe cases)

3. Antibiotic eye drops or ointments (if bacterial infection is present)

#prevention:
