“As for defensive fighting for the sake of repelling [an aggressing enemy] (i.e., self defense) then it is of the most important ways of repelling the aggressor who’s corrupting the sanctity [of life] and Religion, and it is obligatory by consensus. So for the aggressing enemy who corrupts the Deen and Dunya, then nothing is prioritized over repelling him, except having Emān, and it is not to be conditioned, rather he is repelled with whatever capacity is available...”
