The 25-year-old defender posted a message in support of the Palestinian people, saying: "Together we are strong."
- The French football club "Nice" suspended Algerian national team defender Youssef Atal from training with the team and consequently from matches.
The reason for the punishment was his public support for Palestine, which he shared in a video on social media.
- Former French national team player and forward for "Al-Ittihad," Karim Benzema, wrote on social media in the early days of the attack: "We pray for the residents of Gaza, who once again have become victims of this unjust bombardment, sparing neither women nor children," wrote the world's best football player on social media Twitter.
In response to this, French authorities demanded that Benzema be stripped of the "Golden Ball" and French citizenship.
